Louis Mailisand, 17, a senior at Tarpon Springs High School, and his second cousin Milos Petru, retrieved two crosses Friday at the 106th annual Epiphany Celebration at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Tarpon Springs. A second cross had to be thrown into the murky waters of Spring Bayou after the first one was lost during cross dive. Mailisand surfaced with the second cross moments after it was tossed. Petru eventually recovered the first cross and joined Mailisand at the church.

Louis Pappas retrieved the cross from Spring Bayou during the celebration of the 105th Epiphany. At St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Catheral a Divine Liturgy, presided over by His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, assisted by Metropolitan Alexios of Atlanta, Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Atlanta, took place. Following the service, there was a processional to Spring Bayou where a cross was tossed into the waters.

Dimitrios Kalogiannis, 16, of New Port Richie retrieved the cross at Spring Bayou during the 104th Epiphany celebration Wednesday January 6, 2010. The event started at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral at 8 a.m with a service. There was a processional through the streets of Tarpon Springs followed by the tossing of the cross into Spring Bayou. His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America lead the service and tossed the cross.
